Agreement of Belonging
Agreement of Belonging
Trinity Episcopal Church - Torrington
"Be completely humble and gentle, be patient bearing with one another in love. Make every
effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one spirit - just as
you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one god and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." ---Ephesians 4:2-6
Humble and Gentle
We will have open and honest discussions
We will not demean someone for asking for
clarification when we don't understand something someone said
We will respect each other's need for space in
the process of discernment to listen to that "still small voice."
Love
We will speak to each other with respect and honesty
We will accept and validate each other's
feelings as just that, feelings, - as they are neither wrong nor right - they
just are.
Patient
We will speak one at a time and not dominate the
conversation
We will try to hear each other, what is being
said and what is not being said
We will respect the friendships developed
through this process and the thoughts shared in confidence.
