In Hot Springs, Arkansas he served as director of the outstanding Community Band, the Hot Springs/Arkadelphia Bach Choir and Orchestra and in Hot Springs Village was the founding director of the Cedar Mountain Singers and was music director for the Village Players productions of several musical comedies, including an original one.
On the lighter side, he is a member of ACE, the American Coaster Enthusiasts (who enjoy riding roller coasters) and plays duplicate bridge when he gets a chance.
