Music at Trinity

Trinity church has a history of fine music in its worship celebrations. Our choral repertory spans centuries
and is enriched by robust hymn singing and organ music played on our exceptionally fine instrument.

The parish’s music program is in a time of a rebuilding, intending to retain much of that which has come before and adding new dimensions appropriate to 21st century worship.

The choir is made up entirely of volunteer singers who give generously of their time and talent. New singers are always welcome.  There are no formal auditions; all that is required is a love of music and a willingness to be faithful. The choir rehearses from Labor Day until the Feast of Pentecost on Sunday mornings from 9:00 until the service begins at 10:15 AM.

One of our newest approaches is the incorporation of local instrumentalists into our worship.  Torrington has an exceptionally fine music program in its public schools and our goal is to provide young people with an opportunity to share their talents with our worshiping community.

The Trinity Arts Series provides a number of concerts during the year, including an annual memorial organ recital. In addition to this outreach to the community a number of other musical events are planned for the year and dates and information will be available from this website or by calling the parish office.

You are invited to join us in the music making at Trinity church. Music is a vital part of our liturgies, enriching our worship, providing an opportunity to express our joy in God’s love and grace, and providing solace in times of sadness.  We think you’ll enjoy being a part of our community of faithful music makers
